The sand and shingle beach of  Port O'Spittal Bay is a mere ten minute walk by footpath. Coastal footpaths can also be enjoyed with stunning views across the Irish Sea. Dolphins can often be seen inshore and there is a wide variety of birdlife to observe.

The fishing is good too, with Pollack, Mackeral and Tope in goodly numbers and there are local skippers operating Charter Hire from Portpatrick and Drummore should you wish to spend a few hours sea angling.

The village of Portpatrick, the jewel in bonnie Galloway's crown, with its array of restaurants, shops, picturesque harbour, putting green and Dunskey Gardens with coffee shop are a mere 2.5 miles away. This is also an ideal location for visiting Stranraer - enjoy a day trip to Ireland from the ferry town just 7 miles away.
